Save the Rest
“Save the Rest” is a volunteer campaign that demands the release of political detainees and forcibly disappeared persons inside Syrian detention centers, which have been described by Amnesty international as “Human Slaughterhouses” [link to the Amnesty International report]. The campaign aims to help save those who are still alive in these prisons before they are exterminated through starvation, torture, disease or medical negligence.
“Save the Rest” reaches out to politicians, decision makers, and international organizations such as the Red Cross and the United Nations to take immediate action for the release of these prisoners. With the help of advocacy campaigns, public events, testimonies of released detainees, leaked letters and documentaries about the conditions inside Syrian detention centers, this campaign has become one of the loudest voices for Syrian detainees, and one of the few sources of hope for those who remain under detention.
